Soap Making Products: Liquid Gel Jewel Tone Soap Colors
Discover the endless creative possibilities with these lovely jewel tone cosmetic grade liquid gel colors. Safe for lotion, bath salts, MP & CP soap making. One ounce will color approximately 8 pounds of soap to a medium shade. We do not recommend using Jewel Tone Colors to color shower gel or body spray. The color does not stay suspended in shower gel base and eventually sinks to the bottom of bottled products.

Ruby (will bleed in two color applications)
A deep red with black undertones in transparent applications. Makes a nice pink in opaque applications. Cosmetic grade, contains shimmery mica. Stable in high pH such as cold process soap. Labeling information.
Sapphire (will bleed in two color applications)
A deep blue with silver undertones in transparent applications (see star in below photo). Cosmetic grade, contains shimmery mica. Approved for use in all cosmetics except mouthwash, dentifrice or lip contact products. Not Stable in high pH such as cold process soap; will morph to a more reddish hue. Labeling information.
Amethyst (will bleed in two color applications)
A deep jewel purple with reddish undertones when used in transparent applications. Cosmetic grade, contains shimmery mica. Approved for use in all cosmetics except mouthwash, dentifrice or lip contact products. Semi stable in high pH (such as cold process soap); will morph to a more reddish hue. Labeling information.
Jade (non-bleeding)
A beautiful earthy jade green with flecks of shimmery mica.Cosmetic grade. Stable in high pH such as cold processsoap. Labeling information.
Pearl Pink (non-bleeding)
A beautiful pearl pink with soft blue undertones in transparent applications. Makes a soft baby pink when used in opaque applications. Cosmetic grade, contains shimmery mica. Stable in high pH such as cold process soap. Labeling information.
Pearl White (non-bleeding)
A soft white with shimmery mica, warm golden undertones. Cosmetic grade. Approved for use on: lips, eyes, face, nails. Labeling information.

These colors can be used to paint soaps.
Using a dry brush, lightly dust the soap surface with cornstarch for better paint adhesion. Paint has a tendency to pull away from oily surfaces, such as soap. This is especially true of melt and pour soaps. CP (cold process) soaps tend to have more of a porous surface and paint adheres better. We recommend using professional artist brushes in smooth, even strokes. Allow painted surface to dry for 15 minutes (we suggest overnight) before applying a second color layer. Do not wrap painted soaps for at least 24 hours to avoid paint pulling away from soap surface.
