Our Green Commitment

GoPlanetEarth has a commitment to sustainability and green planning. Here are just some of the ways that we are working toward conservation of our environment. They may seem like small steps, but if each of us make these types of small contributions, we can make a difference.

  • Paper towels and a myriad of other paper products are made from 99.9% pre-or post-consumer recycled paper.

  • Aprons, linens and towels are washed using phosphate-free and biodegradable detergent.

  • Our recycling program includes cardboard, plastic and glass.

  • We have banned all cigarette smoking on our premises.

  • We use programmable thermostats. Every degree you turn down your thermostat you save 2 percent on your annual heating bill.

  • Office, cleaning and disposable supplies come from 'green companies' such as Seventh Generation.

  • Employees carpool or bike to work whenever they can. We even one employee that runs to work.

  • Purchase only recycled paper for our office and reuse paper whenever possible.

  • Printer cartridges and toner are recycled.

  • Our four-day work policy reduces air conditioning and heating costs.

  • We've adopted a piece of land within the community to clean-up and maintain.

  • Reusable. eco-friendly bags are given to all employees for food shopping.

  • Appliances and office equipment is unplugged at the end of the day to conserve energy. According to the Union of Concerned Scientists, this idling power loss - made up of cordless phones, cell phones, misc battery chargers and even televisions, VCR's and the like - make up approximately 5% of a consumer's energy bill. This wasted energy costs us $5.8 billion dollars annually and emits 87 billion pounds of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere!

  • We cancelled all phone books for our offices. Instead, we use the internet to look up phone number and Google to get directions. Phone books consume an abundance of paper.

  • Coffee grounds are used for compost.

  • Customer sales receipts are sent via email to reduce paper waste.

  • Computer monitors are turned off when not in use.

  • Cardboard boxes from suppliers are recycled.

  • We purchase post consumer recycled shipping cartons whenever possible.
