Soap Making Instructional ~ Tutorial:
Pouring Soap in Layers (Part 2 of 3)

Pouring Soap Layers- Part 2 of 3

This is part 2 of a 3 part series on pouring layered soap. In this lesson, we will slice the layered loaf made in Part 1. Shaped cutters are used. These shaped will later be embeded and layered into a heart shaped mold.

Here's what you need:

GETTING STARTED

Step One

Step One

Slice the layered loaf made in Part 1 into lengthwise sections. Our slices were approximately 3/" thick.

Step Two

Step 2

Using shaped cutters (we used a circle and a daisy shape) punch out several shapes. Not all of your shapes need to be full pieces.

Step Three

For the next step, you will need the heart mold, measuring cup, knife, clear soap base, color and fragrance. Keep the bottle of rubbing alcohol handy.

Step 3

Step Four

Cube approximately 10 ounces of clear soap. Place in glass measuring cup and melt in microwave in short bursts. Do not overheat.

Step 4

Add the pearl pink soap color and desired fragrance. We used 1 1/2 teaspoons of fragrance for the 8 ounces. Spray the colored soap with rubbing alcohol before pouring. This will help remove any air bubbles that were created while stirring in the color and fragrance.

Step 4

Step Five

Step 5

Pour colored soap into mold cavities.

Step 5

Spritz with rubbing alcohol to remove surface air bubbles.

Step Six

Allow soap to set upcompletely before removing from mold. Using a sharp chef's knife, slice the heart soaps lengthwise into 3 to 4 sections.

Step 6

Step Seven

Step 7

You're now ready to assemble the soaps. Move onto the next tutorial called Pouring Soap in Layers- Part 3.
