Soap Making Instructional Video: Strawberry Slice Soap
A whimsical soap made with the large plain heart from the Mold Market mold line. The green stem at top of strawberry is a small 5 point star cut to shape. The white seeds are poured in white soap base and carefully dropped onto the soap surface. A perfect soap for a strawberry festival or anytime of year.

Here's what you need:
Large Heart Mold, Mini Star Mold
Plastic Straw or wooden skewer for positioning the droplets of white soap
Tomato Red and Neon Green Liquid Gel Colors
Melt & Pour Soap Base- both clear and white (opaque)
Strawberry Fragrance Oil (we suggest 2 teaspoon of fragrance per pound of melted soap base.) These recommendations are based on the use of our fragrances and soap bases.
GETTING STARTED
Step One
Pour small star with green colored soap. Use clear base if coloring with neon green liquid gel colorant. Let cool and de-mold.
Step Two
After un-molding, trim away one of the points of the star. The cut out section will be seated at the top of the large heart mold. See above photo.
Step Three
Melt clear soap base, color with tomato red liquid gel colorant and scent with strawberry fragrance. Pour red soap into the heart mold. Allow soap to set up until a thin skin forms on the top of soap.
Step Four
Spritz the top of red soap with rubbing alcohol and then position the green stem at the top of heart. Gently press down on stem piece to seat into red soap. Note: the rubbing alchohol helps the green step to better adhere to the red soap. The alchohol smell will dissapate in a few minutes.
Step Five
Melt a small amount of white soap base in the microwave. Allow to cool down to the consistency of cake batter.
Step Six
Dip the tip of the straw into the white soap base and carefully place a drop of white onto the red heart. Repeat a number of times to get the effect of white seeds. Allow to cool, then de-mold heart.

Step Seven
Wrap soap to help retain scent and to prevent "glycerin dew" from appearing on the surface of finished soap.
